Typography
Our typography is usable across all platforms, and is easy on the eyes.
Proxima Nova, our font family, is modern, fun and, most importantly, is easy to read; especially at smaller sizes. When writing content, make sure to use appropriate sizing to ensure optimal legibility. And don’t forget, if tasteful, sprinkle relevant emoji throughout your copy!
There are no strict guidelines to font weight, however we prefer heavier weights for titles and regular weights for body text.

Color
Our typography is usable across all platforms, and is easy on the eyes.
We want diverse content full of individual flare and creativity! However, consistency is also important. Our official colour is nicknamed wine, and is the colour used for scenarios involving the presentation of the SUEDE brand or logo.
Here are some other variations of our colour that you can consider.
Tone
We use our voice to not only create visual hierarchy, but to communicate our personality, bringing SUEDE to life.
Consider the audience. And use emoji if tasteful! ☺ Always remember who we are talking to when designing content. Bring a casual, fun energy to your content (i.e. hey!) to correctly portray our brand. If you’re writing copy for SUEDE socials, sprinkle some relevant emoji throughout.
Use inclusive language. We are a community, so when you write content treat it like you’re speaking to friends. In addition, use inclusive pronouns when referring to SUEDE, like ‘we’ and ‘us’.
Be simple and direct. We want to be engaging, clear and succinct. Keep things short and simple to understand!
Logo
This is our logo. It’s dear to us, so please treat it with respect!
The logotype.
This is our primary logo. Use this as the main logo on content. Please don’t ever obscure the word ‘society’, as that’s what we are!
The logomark.
These are the secondary logos. Use them as a sort of ‘badge’ on content for places where the primary logo does not suit/fit.
Colour variations.
Both monochrome and inverted variations are available of both the logo type and logomark, suitable for different scenarios. Do not create your own colour variations.
The do's and don'ts.
SUEDE is a design society, so let’s take a moment to think about how to design content with our logo.We want you to be free to create engaging content! That’s what SUEDE is all about. However, there are a couple of rules to follow. Here’s a brief list of things to keep in mind when designing.
Let the logo breathe. Always try to leave a good amount of space around our logo. Our logo is iconic, we don’t want to distract from it.
Use the logo tastefully. If you have a darker background, remember to use the light logo variants.
Don’t adjust proportions. Please don’t play or change with the proportions of our logo.
Don’t rotate the logo. Don’t rotate or place our logo on an angle.
Don’t misrepresent the brand. Please don’t place our logo on distasteful or cluttered backgrounds.
